Atrix vs Infuse

Which one do you want to get?

I stopped by my local AT&T store today and got to try out the Infuse. I really liked the screen size and the clarity is unbelievable. I played a video that was on it and the picture was extremely crisp and clear. Then, I set it beside my Atrix and called up the same website (FOX Entertainment). The Atrix was hands down faster. Not just a little, but very noticeably faster.

I've never owned a Samsung phone, but the family and friends that have, all had problems with them.

Decisions, decisions..........I have five days left to return my Atrix if I decide on the Infuse.

So if I mod, a phone with less ram and half the processing power is a better choice for me????

And you gathered the Infuse has a better battery life after one hour of use?

first of all, the atrix really only has 512 mb of ram. the other 512mb of ram is for webtop. It does not get used.

second of all, just because its "dual core" doesnt mean it gives you double the processing power. maybe in a year it will have more of an advantage, but as of right now, there is not too much of a difference.

and I didnt know there was only an hour in a day

This is BS. The lap dock is essentially an external monitor and keyboard. It has absolutely nothing to do whatsoever with the phone's ability to utilize its processor or RAM while undocked

There is no partition for the RAM and the rumor of there being 512MB dedicated to the webtop app is false. Webtop only uses 300mb at most when it is actually being used.

Also, your original statement was that if a person mods, the Infuse is the better choice. My response was that the dual-core gives the user more hardware and speed to further mod and expand this phone. It's just common sense that a phone with a dual-core will have a higher limit than that of a single core.

Finally, I misread your post about playing with the phone for an entire day. My mistake. for some reason I thought I read 'an hour'.

I have owned an Atrix for about 2 months, it was my first Android phone coming off the iPhone, and I am impressed. Snappy as hell, nice screen, and love the Android platform and accessories (except the stupid laptop dock). What I don't like about the Atrix is the camera, Moto Blur is awful, been told voice quality is poor from people I call, and random restarts are frustrating.

Picked up the Infuse on Sunday because the larger screen intrigued me. So far my impressions are favorable. Samsung has a much more polished interface, and the phone is reasonably snappy, but I can tell it will hit it's limits much faster than the Atrix would. The camera on the Infuse is fantastic, comparable if not better to the iPhone's camera and it's something I love to have with a cheeky little 2 year old running around.

Overall, I think the screen is what makes the Infuse a much more enjoyable experience. It's big bold and beautiful, with the one caveat that the color is a bit over saturated for my taste. I spend a lot of time in airports and being able to consume media on this screen makes it a pleasure to have. The phone is so light and slim that it doesn't feel intrusive. I would likely return the Infuse to pick up the HTC Sensation that is rumored to be launched on June 9th, but I don't know how difficult it would be to get the HTC to run on the ATT network?

Aren't the choices limiting?

Some of the mood I get in this thread seems like one is choosing between two devils. Look there are other, valid choices.

1. The HTC Inspire. I think HTC knows better than Motorola and Samsung what people want with their smartphones. It is a company with more diligent support and upgrades, plus a phone with a much nicer looking body and user interface.

2, The Samsung Nexus S with the AT&T band at Negri Electronics. Hopefully, the Nexus S becomes official with AT&T. Why this? Samsung hardware is great. Samsung software is not. The Nexus S takes the great hardware from the Galaxy S, and then Google takes personal responsibility with the software. That for me is a winning combination.

After going back and dinking with the Infuse three times. I decided to stay with the Atrix. The big screen on the Infuse was easier on the old eyes, but the side-by-side performance comparisons left the Atrix out front.

.......... but I don't know how difficult it would be to get the HTC to run on the ATT network?

I've had three HTC phones that ran on the ATT network with no problems. The 2125, Tilt and Tilt2, all with the Windows OS. Everything worked great, but they were S-L-O-O-OW................

I am in a similar boat. My contract is up and it looks like I'm sticking with AT&T as verizon has no appealing LTE phones.

I was hoping the Galaxy SII would be releasing already....but it doesn't look like I'll make it.

It sounds like the Atrix is the faster more capable phone but has some buggy issues yet to be fixed, however I am not a huge modder so I doubt I care if it has a locked bootloader and such.

The infuse looks like a great phone but lower res screen and not dual core....I don't know what to do....seriously....I wish we had a Galaxy SII to choose right now...

A little disappointed in the Atrix and AT&T today. I went out to my little piece of land where coverage would go between 3G and Edge on my old phones. Today, the Atrix tried to stay on the "H" signal and it was v-e-r-y s-l-o-w. Is there a way to switch to 3G/Edge and not receive the, supposedly. H signal?

I picked up the Atrix about two weeks ago and, for the most part, it's a great phone. I have no problems with the battery and no problems with it shutting down. I do, however, have issues with certains apps crashing. Seems to be anything multiplayer ( especially dogfight )...which I love. I'm thinking of trying the Infuse just to see if it will run the app. I look at it like this..think back a couple years ago and now look where were are. No Gingerbread? so what...Dual Core? Who cares if no apps are utilizing it.

...

My thunderbolt is smoking! I live in a LTE area and I have 0 issues. I don't use the LTE exclusively. When I want to d/l an mp3 or watch HQ YouTube without any sort of lag or buffering, I turn on LTE, otherwise its 3G. I last a whole day doing this and after about a 24 hr. period my phone beeps at me because I forgot to charge it the night before. I'm rooted and have a BAMF ROM on it. The devs are helping this phone out a TON!

I picked up the Sammy phone at Verizon and it felt cheap to me. My Bolt is perfect to me.

they both loook like really awesome phones, I personally like the infuse it looks nice and slim and awesome screen, but it would run better if it wasn't AT&T

I've had the Atrix for three weeks now. The phone hardware is fast, unlike AT&T's 3G ... ops, i meant H+ network (what a marketing joke). I mainly use it on wifi, so no biggy there (shoot, even my Home Depot has free guest wifi lol)

I love the phone, except the screen size kills me. I found a retailer who is willing to let me try out the Infuse for a few weeks while holding onto my Atrix. I'll try to write up something.
