Atrocious 4g "speed" despite full bars?!

I'm in East LA/Monterey Park for a few days and I've done several speed tests where my average DL speed is 0.11 mbps, sometimes as low as 0.09 mbps despite having full bars?

What. The. F***.

That isn't even 3g, that's straight up 1x crap.

It doesn't do this everywhere, mind you, just around Gage/Cesar Chavez, also Whittier/Atlantic. In my family's home I get somewhat normal speeds. oes anyone know why this might be?

their just parts where you're not going to get full 4g; happens here to even though i still have 4g symbol and good signal.

Bars have nothing to do with data speeds. 2 separate things.

Radio swap-outs are done at night and are given a 1a-6a window.

Also you don't have any plan that throttles data do you? Happened to me as well on the throttled data plans.

Not always some upgrades are done during the day if there is a suitable tower nearby but that "suitable" tower may not be able to connect everyone his bars aren't for 4G so you don't really know where the 4G is coming from
