i work with lots of professional collegues, and NONE have all this crap we read about in the Inspire forums..
Battery life is not acceptable, ATT/HTC know the design is failure, and should make available repayment or compensation...

My wife has IPHONE 4S, and MUST take my lumps and say her phone outperforms mine in most areas..
Not all, but many, especially just plain usability..

Running around with multiple batteries, backup power packs, plugging into outlets whenever i can, just plain rediculous..

ATT is sending a new replacement today from all my complaining, but i am completely confident the new Inspire will have the same issues....

It's to bad that you have had a bad experience with this phone. Personally I have had absolutely nothing but a good experience with mine. In fact by comparison to other phone models that I work with on a daily basis the inspire still ranks in the top three. I work for a major wireless carrier and having access to a huge range of models as a frame of reference, the inspire is for lack of a better word great! Getting a day and a half out of my inspires battery is not difficult. I think that you need to out smart your phone honestly. Yes it has a very small battery for a smart phone, there is no arguing that, that being so it may be in your best interest to figure out how to get around this issue because you have just entered yourself into the refurbished spiral of doom. I hope this is not the case for you but I have seen it time and time again. The replacements they send out for these phones are phones that formerly had a problem and "fixed" so to speak. Most of the time the replacement will be worse than the one you started with. Hoping the best for you :)

now im concerned they are going to send me crappy refurbished unit...

work as pharmacist in hospital. accessing clinical apps throughout day, moderately texting, some internet.
battery lasts till noon.

using navagation, drains in 1 hour.

have used some app killerd. juice

let me know your thoughts.
thank you

Ugh now I feel like a total jerk. Being in the line of work that you are in I can see the battery being a problem when you depend on it on a daily basis. What I didn't mention about my phone is that I use modified software as well as juice defender. On top of that I don't use my phone during the day to perform my job so at 2:30 in the afternoon my battery has not even started showing any drain. If your phone is operating on 2.3 gingerbread you really don't need an app killer. It is built into the software and unless you do use other functions of the app killer you have its not a bad idea to uninstall it. Juice defender works differently in that it turns off the radios on your phone while you are not using it. This does make a significant difference in your battery life when the phone is at idle. One of the largest drains on your battery is the screen. It might be helpful to turn the screen brightness down as much as you can stand it. another helpful thing is to turn off any screen animations. Menu>settings>display>animations. This not only saves a little battery but can improve the performance of the phone as well. If you are using a live wall paper...DON'T. It is a good idea to uninstall any apps that you don't need/use. OF coarse turn off wifi/bluetooth/gps when you are not using them. There are other things that you can do to your phone to get the most out of it. HTCs version of the android operating system is a heavy beast and does not play nice with the battery. There is actually lots of support on these forums for this phone and a wealth of information on how to fix nearly any issue you may face. There are loads of developers who are continuously producing software for your phone that you will never get from htc/att. Here is a screenshot of my phone just after 6pm in the afternoon after having been off of the charger since about 7:30 this morning.

Do a little research on your phone and you will be pretty surprised at what your phone can really do. again accept my apology for my last post. :)

I thought original poster was going to mention worse battery location design in history of HTC. I don't know how many people have broken the sound toggle switch.

Personally this is one of the best phones ive had my hands on... Very well built, and with a stripped custom... you can get great batt life, or you can get so many more variations to this phone, its development community is outstanding and HUGE!

post10 for sig

I have had my Inspire 4G since June, 2011. A few months ago, it did 2 abnormal resets, where phone apparently crashed, turned off and back on with message asking if I wanted to send a report to HTC. I did so.

A little over 3 weeks ago, it started doing abnormal resets every day. I called tech support, who advised factory reset. That made it worse. Sent phone on 2/21 for repair. Got back 3/2. Next day, problem started again. I called repair to report. They had replaced main board. Sent back again 3/5. It is now in transit back to me supposedly repaired.

Not sure what they will do if it continues. They said other options. Replacement? Not sure I want a refurbished (or even new) one. If problem continues, I will go back to AT&T and see what they can do before I contact warranty.

I loved the phone until the problem started.

This sounds like the same problems that I am dealing with except that I am not being offered even a repair or replacement. I am accused of causing water damage to the phone since the moisture indicator is the slightest color pink. I will NOT pay out of my pocket for insurance to replace this phone, which is $125. I am in the process of deciding if I want to just cancel the contract with my carrier. It is a bit over the $125, but I will save myself $150 each month by not using my carrier anymore.
