They are particularly annoying on Angry Birds, I know what you mean.

Unfortunately, there is no paid for, ad free version of Angry Birds, but playing with WiFi/3G disabled gets rid of the ads.

That aside, you had the chance to play about yet? How are you finding the new ROM compared to stock?

Turning off WiFi/3G did the trick on Angry Birds. No need for me to download Ad-Free after all. Thanks for the tip!

Swidish Spring is muuuuuuuuch nicer than the horrid Orange bloatware 2.1. All those useless icons are gone and I have some shiny new ones to play with! It feels smoother too but that might just be in my head.

Is there a way of turning off the predictive word suggestions when typing?

Sorry, I don't have access to an OSF at the moment, but from memory, the language and settings options are here:

Settings-> Language & Keyboard -> Touch Input. There are plenty of options in there to play about with.

You can also long press the box where text is entered and it will give you the option to change the keyboard etc.

It is so much slicker with Swedish Spring on it and dannymur made some pretty good suggestions for apps etc. Launcher Pro (or any alternative launcher is a must).

So I did a quick search on Launcher Pro and found a few posts that say it expires and stops your phone working. See an example below:

Indeed, there are alternatives out there too. Go Launcher Ex, or ADW.

I've been using Go Launcher for 3-4 months with no problems whatsoever.

Okay a couple more daft questions!

I have pretty poor reception on my OSF/ZTE Blade at home and at work. As previously stated I'm using a giffgaff sim which uses the 02 network. I usually have E displayed (sometimes H but rarely) and 1 or 2 bars (if I'm lucky). The default browser (or Opera) often complains that I should check my network settings. When I go into the AP settings and select giffgaff it is greyed out and I can't edit them or view them (the actual details are starred out). Is this normal?

My device is GEN1. Would GEN2 make much of a difference? I read somewhere it improves radio something or other!

I have ordered a 3 sim card to see if their reception is any better in my flat and work place. I love the idea behind giffgaff and would love to stay with them though ideally.
