Audio mp3 problem on Android phone

Can anyone help me....I have a Samsung A06 phone running Android 15. I am having a problem when I playback mp3 files. The problem is that after about 15 seconds of play the sound dips for a millisecond, like a hiccup! and then continues to play. I have tried about 5 different mp3 players on my phone and it happens on all of them. I do not have any problem if I play audio off YouTube or BBC Sounds etc. Also, I have tried these apps on my Android tablet and there is NO problem on that so I think it must be some sort of setting on my phone. (I don't know if this is important but the mp3 files are stored on an SD card in the phone.)
Can anyone advise why this might happen and what could I do or change to stop it happening.

Many thanks in advance for any advice

I have the same problem too but have you switched to VLC?

That is an odd problem. It could be a read error from the SD card. An easy experiment would be to put a mp3 file in Internal Storage > Music and see if it lags at the 15 second mark. If the card is not the problem, at least it will be eliminated as a suspect.

YES!

I too have this issue with some music and movies.

For me, it turns out yhat VLC is not as good as I thought it was, and this was all I needed to give it the boot!

I was actually trying to redownload all the files that won't play correctly.

Anyway, in my quest for a better media player, I stumbled upon an excellent file manager that has within it an adequate music player and a rather nice video player as well.

It is not super easy to use, but it has some very interesting features, and would like to see what you all think about it.

Along with the features above, it also allows editing of apks, and can read from a card reader plugged into a phone (not all file managers can do that).

Honestly, my sound dropouts are gone, and my videos even look better.

There is a learning curve, but the UI of VLC is so loathsome combined with the insufferable amount of time it takes to load and then reload everything over and over again makes MT Manager my new choice without shedding a tear.

Using Fossify Gallery (my usual photo/video viewing app) you have to use a format that it can read, and being a file manager means that MT Manager can read many more types of files with no need to change format.

I keep VLC available on my PC but didn't care for it on my phone. I'm currently using Musicolet. It does it's thing without any problems. Winamp is my PC player of choice.

I dont have a computer, so VLC on android is all I have seen of VLC.

My love affair with the app (vlc) has been strained many times, but when I was trying out MT Manager I accidently discovered the media players in it (fully expecting my default players to play upon file selection) and noticed that there were no droppouts in what I had suspected was just a 'bad copy'.

I double checked, and the dropouts reappear when played with VLC.

Also, Fossify Gallery wont play one video after another and VLC is fickle to make it do so.

Funny enough, it's a simple toggle switch (in video player mode) setting on MT Manager.

I had a version of MTK Manager on an old phone before, but it wont work on my newer devices. So I looked for an updated version and found MT Manager, and it seems to be the same thing.

I guess that there are not as many 'features', but in reality I use hardly any of the extra junk that VLC offers.

The EQ is not useful due to the Audio Effects apps that most (even cheap) devices have, and 90% of the other crap also seems superfluous.
Not to mention the clunky file browser you are stuck with

And I cannot stress enough how tired I was waiting for VLC to constantly load my media.

Holy hell, if I changed from VLC to another app and back again it was another 2-3 minute wait for my film selection to begin playing, watching an ugly orange cone spinning around. VLC has the memory of a goldfish evidently.

Both Fossify Gallery and MT Manager will start a selection immediately, and dont seem to need hardly any time to get their $#!+ together and start.

VLC acts like it needs some Ritalin or something.

Usually I will hang on to an app that I used for a while, in case I decide to go back to it, but I have had problems with VLC before so I uninstalled that thing like a broken toilet- with about as much care.

I've seen quite enough orange cones out on the road and have no interest to see them on my phone.
