Help Audio output decreases signifcantly after notification???

When I'm listening to music through headphones or speakers or something the sound output decreases dramatically when I receive a text or other notification. The only way I've figured out how to get back to the normal output strength is by making a fake phone call (to like #8 or something) and then ending the call and sometimes it will return to it's usual volume.

Is this something that can be fixed? It's really annoying to be listening to music, and then get an email notification and have the sound basically be reduced by 50%.

Maybe you should factory reset your phone. I just tested my phone by sending myself an email from my computer while I have the phone playing a song. The phone reduces the volume of the song by ~50% once it receives a notification then back to 100% volume right after.

Same problem here. All I have to do is pause my music until I hear the sound completely shut off, it takes a couple secs, I'm talking about the slight humming sound you hear when you hit pause, then I hit play and its back to normal.

I have something similar - only comes after a text message notification.

GMail notification doesn't affect the sound at all.

I tried this today and it worked, but only if I was already listening to music. If I was out and about and received a text or something, and then started listening to music again the sound was still really quiet and the pause method didn't work. The only way I could get it back was by using my method where I make a phone call and hang up.

It affects me no matter what kind of notification :(.

Guess I may have to do a factory reset but that seems like overkill

I have the completely opposite problem... When I get a text, email or a call, my volume goes UP to the point of distortion. Whether I'm listening to my music, xm or anything else!

I also just pause the player, then restart and that works for me.

lol I had three guys from work sitting with me in my truck this morning. Read the note about notifications on here, checked my vm and at least got decent volume. it's still not nearly as good as my cd player in the Titan but ok. Anyone used poweramp or powerplayer to get better volume/bass response out of your phone?

I downloaded the leaked ICS music player today and found the the decreased volume after notification issue is no longer apparent.

Has anyone else noticed this?
