Help Audio problem with headphones after turning down volume

I was listening music with mix zing and exploring the cellphone and tried to turn down the volume using the dr. battery saver app and since the audio is distorted using earphones but with the speaker the audio is normal as well the sound of the callings

Is it a software related problem or could it damage the headset output?
