audio problems

trenansac

Lurker
My audio cuts in and out and often barely audible above a whisper. I have tried sound apps like volume control, volume booster, sound widgets. I tried a new music player and I even downloaded a new recorder since it has a problem with playback on it too but! still no luck. It is really low when I use the speaker when Im playing my voicemails too.
I have an lg optimus m. Ive googled and cannot find a solution.

Please advise
Thanks

Welcome trenansac, glad to have you apart of this ever expanding community!

Hopefully i can try and give you some advice with your problem, otherwise i know you can drop the question off in the subforum for your device or here: Android Lounge - Android Forums

I would suggest to remove your battery and reboot.

If that doesnt work i would factory reset your phone.

Lastly, if that doesnt work your phone probably has a hardware issue and you should get into contact with your carrier/seller

Hopefully you enjoy your time here :)

Thank you for your suggestion,
I did power down and removed the battery several times. So I will try the factory reset next.

Do I need to back up any specific files first? I know to back up my pics, videos and recordings. IMost of those are already on my sd card I assume that I can move them to the sd card. I haven't had the phone that long so I don't have documents or any data files. I have some apps that I moved to my sd card should I move them back to the phone first? I am going to unmount and remove the sd card before I factory reset. I don't have computer access to the internet and its old so it doesn't have any way to read the sd card. I can hook my phone up through the usb but I dont have a way to download any drivers. Is there a website or app that I can put the drivers on my phone 1st? Im sure its easy to factory reset I hope that someone can answer some of my questions before I factory reset. Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions that anyone can answer for me. Im new to the Android word. But so far Ive had fun :)
