Audio Profiles has stopped

SLKRR

Lurker
I'm getting the dreaded "Unfortunately, (app) has stopped" error, except that this time it is on Audio Profiles. This means that I cannot adjust any of the phone's audio settings (ringtone, etc.) and all calls to the phone are being routed automatically to voicemail.

I have attempted to clear the cache and data for Audio Profiles, but this doesn't fix the error. Will a factory reset help with this?

Android version is 4.1

Welcome to Android Forums.

I assume Audio Profiles is an app that you installed from Play Store.

Why don't you just uninstall it and use the native controls?

Thom,

No, I am not referring to an app I downloaded. Audio Profiles is the native controls and that is what was not working.

However, the good news is that I did do the factory reset and it seems to have cleared the problem. I can now open Audio Profiles and the phone does ring when it is called (instead of instantly going to voicemail). Fortunately, I didn't have a lot of apps on this phone yet, so it shouldn't be too bad to redownload whatever I need.

Good.

I have just under 300 apps from Play Store and I do a Factory Data Reset after every major update (like 4.4 to 4.4.4). It doesn't take that much time to reinstall them all ... and t is mostly automatic.
