Apps Audio through Mini-USB

I want to write an app that will send the audio on an android device out through the mini-usb on the phone. Has anyone tried that? Am I crazy for even trying that? Is it even possible. I cannot find much on the internet about trying to do that.

Do you mean digitally? You can plug htc's usb to headphone adapter or usb headphones to get audio out of the usb port

Is it possible to charge as well as sending audio out of the usb?

Delusional, I read on the Android developer site that the only place the media player would output the audio was through the earphone jack. If you have any information about playing the music through the USB port I would like to know.

I plugged my headphone / usb splitter that came with my htc touch into my sprint hero and audio came out of the headphone jack there and my headphone jack. I was able to charge at the same time with this.
