Help Audio video out of sync

Android Enthusiast
Don't know when it happened, but at some point in the past I noticed for some reason my video files wouldn't sync with the audio when I played movies on my nexus 7.

They'd be just a frame or two off. Just enough to be annoying as hell.

Happens in multiple apps (including vlc), with all videos (near as I can tell).

Always one or two frames.

Any ideas?

Alternately, can anyone recommend a video app that speeds/delays audio or video at my discretion? I seem to remember one that did that, but I apparently don't have it any more.

Add my recommendation for MX Player.

I tried (but disliked) vlc on android even though it's my player of choice on Linux and Windows.

MX Player is in a different league; I liked it so much I bought the "pro" (ad-free) version even though I am rooted and adblocked anyway so there was no obvious difference from my point of view. Good developers deserve some reward :-)

Thanks guys, I have mxplayer but couldn't find the frame skip option, I'll look a little deeper.

Meanwhile, if anyone can tell me WHY this is happening, that'd be great.

Why its happening could be any number of factors like how much the processor has to process for each movie. Remember the bigger the movie the more to process. It could be that you need to scale your movies down some in order to accommodate the processor. Also what other process are running at the time? Background process can also affect how well something else runs so that also may be an issue. I have only played a few movies on mine and never had an issue but I don't have a ton of stuff on mine either.
