Auto GPS on with maps???

Hello.... Does anybody know how (or if it's possible) to have GPS automatically turn on when I open maps? I thought I might be able to use Smart Actions but there is no trigger from turning on an app.

You do know that basically the GPS already behaves like this? If you have the GPS enabled, it's only actually on when it it's being used to fix your location. The other 99.9% of the day it's off and not using any power.

That being said, and you really want to enable/disable you're GPS, tasker can do it.

I leave the Stand alone GPS on all the time, and it only turns itself on when I use Maps.

I was not aware of this. So, unless the GPS is being called upon, it does not use up the battery?

If this is true... Wow! That would solve my question.

Yup. It only uses battery if an app is utilizing it. One of the most common myths is that it drains your battery.

It's not like wifi where it is constantly searching.
