Help Auto-rotate getting "stuck"?

At first i thought it was a software bug but after trying a few roms and it still happening, it must be hardware?
Occasionally it will get stuck in a certain orientation.
A reboot fixes it though so... that makes it sound like it its software..
Is it a known bug, maybe in the kernel source?

Sounds more like the sensor "forgetting" the phone's orientation. Rebooting makes it read the orientation from scratch.

I have a similar problem with my Nexus 7 occasionally. However, I don't have to reboot; simply hitting the Back button (assuming the phone is in the desired orientation) resolves things.
