Help auto rotate home screen/apps drawer?

Just got new Epic 4G about a week ago - my first Android phone, & love it so far. One thing I've been wondering. It seems like it used to auto-rotate the home screen & the apps screen, but it doesn't now. When I slide out the keyboard, these screens flip to landscape mode, but otherwise they stay in portrait mode regardless of phone orientation. What I'm wondering is, am I crazy, and somehow just making up this memory of auto-rotate behavior, or is it possible that one of the apps I've installed is affecting this? All other functions auto rotate correctly - phone, contacts, all my apps - it's just these two screens that don't.

As far as I can remember that's the way it's always been. It stays in portrait mode for the home screens and the app screen unless you slide out the keyboard.

Its the update. You can always use a different home launcher like launcher or adw and they would give you the option to auto rotate if that is what you are wanting.
