Help Auto-Rotate Stopped Working LGL86C

I have an LG Optimus Showtime running Android version 4.0.4 and my auto-rotate suddenly stopped working. I have made sure that it is set under the display tab in the settings, I've tried taking my battery out for 30 seconds or longer & then restarting the phone, but that hasn't helped. Is there a way to fix this without doing a factory reset? Is there a way to test the phone to see if it is a software problem or a hardware problem? Thanks!

If so. I've had vibrators get jammed in the past and hitting the phone quite hard against my hand has unjammed it

I downloaded the app you suggested & used it, my phone vibrated when I touched it. I have tried hitting against my hand quite a few times to get it to work but no luck so far.

I downloaded an app called Accelerometer Play & the little balls on the screen only go up & down when I move the phone around, they don't go completely around the screen.

That is okay. I goggled my problem, tried everything I could find, then just decided to do a factory reset. It is now working & my phone is faster.

Glad you got it fixed, but if it happens again, I use the app in Funky's link in all my cheapo devices when the auto rotate doesn't work as it should, and it works like a charm!!!
