Auto Switching Networks

Lurker
I may be on a 4G or H+ connection and at random times it switches to E.

The way I fix it is going to Settings->More Networks->Mobile Networks->Network Operators->And choose the first network from the 2 from the list from my provider (my provider actually provides 2 networks, I wonder why?)

But this is happening every day and I have to wait 2 minutes to scan the networks every time I do this, so it's becoming annoying.

Is there any way to solve this once and for all?

My provider is 3 Ireland and I'm using Android 4.4.2 on a Note 3.

It switches because either the H or 4G had a decrease in signal, causing the phone to look for another network. You can just leave it alone as calls and SMS, emails and chats will still go through on E. If you try to browse and the phone sees you need more speed, it will switch to H or 4G, by order of which has better signal. Plus keeping it on E is better for battery.

If you absolutely have to keep it on H, go to Settings >More Networks>Mobile Networks>Network Mode and set it to WCDMA only, which keeps you on H and turns off the antenna for E. However this will not detect 4G. I am not sure if there is a 4G only option on newer phones.
