Help Auto Syncing Contacts

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4. My phone recently broke and I cannot turn it back on. I am in the process of waiting for my new one to arrive in the mail. I know the majority of my contacts are synced to my Google account because I synced them manually. However, there were contacts I recently added that I did not get a chance to manually sync before my phone broke. Whenever I would save a contact, my phone would automatically say that it was syncing my contacts. Does this mean it was saving the new contact I had just added to my Google account? I asked someone at AT&T about this and they told me only if I was logged into Google at the time. Is this true? If so, what do they mean only if I was logged into Google at the time? Where would I be logged into Google?

I won't know for sure whether these recently added contacts were synced or not but I was hoping to get an answer before my phone arrives because it won't be here for another week or so and that's why I am posting here.

Thanks in advance.

Hey there

Welcome to Android Forums.

They mean to say that , You must be logged in from at least one of the google accounts , and auto sync been turned on.

Setting >Accounts >Google> and there are your added accounts .

According to me , I feel yeah your google account was added but i don't know about if auto sync was on or not.

For Example My Auto Sync is on > And My contacts were auto sysnced today at 10 AM +5:30 GMT.

Thanks

A Much better idea is:

Proceed to this link : https://contacts.google.com/preview/all

Log in your account and voila : You can see all your contacts that lie in your google account :)

Thanks for your reply. Why do you say auto sync might not have been turned on if my phone would say it was auto syncing my contacts after each time I added a new one? I would be more inclined to believe I wasn't logged into my Google account, but I could be wrong. Furthermore, what makes you think I was logged into my Google account?

Thanks for your reply. I already tried looking at my contacts online and only five of them show up, but I know this isn't correct. I had tried viewing my contacts online before I went to the AT&T store so when I arrived I mentioned to them the fact only five contacts show up online and they said this is normal and my contacts won't be visible until I get my new phone and go to transfer them.

This didn't make much sense to me but I know this to be the case because I had the same issue with my phone breaking six months ago and when I received my new phone (the one that is currently broken), I had no issues transferring my contacts. Weird, right? Is anyone else familiar with contacts not being visible online?

Hey , thanks for the reply !

I just checked my contacts online , and all those on my phone are being showed there .

If you are seeing only 5 of them in All contacts simply means there are no more contacts left.

I don't know about that problem , it goes into google Topic more than the android One .

Thanks
