Android Question

Until a few weeks ago, my apps were automatically updated, when I switched on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo, Android 6.0.1).

It looked like, Google Play Store initiated a process or something in the background, which automatically checked which apps (Whatsapp, Gmail, etc.) could be updated, and started the update processes automatically. That was so convenient.

Since a few weeks this "process" is not there anymore... To update my apps I must manually, start Google Play Store, then in the menu on the top left, choose "Apps and Games" -> "My Apps & Games", then I get to see the the list of installed apps and games. On the top right of this list there is a button "update all" (when there are updates (if not the button isn't there). When I press the button all apps which have updates are updated automatically.

I've already checked my phone: Settings-> Device Info -> Automatically download updates (turned on). It has no effect ....

Who knows how I can set my apps to be automatically updated when starting / restarting my phone? Or possibly even that updates "pushed" to be installed automatically (do not know if that's possible). And others have with the same problem?

I'm not sure which version of Android you have, I have 5.1 lollipop. If you go to that and click app updates, when you get to that page tap the three dots in the upper right hand corner and tap settings. Then you will be given the option of turning auto updates on or off.
