Apps AutoCompleteTextView with Search button

I would like to know if it is possible to use AutoCompleteTextView to make searches on a database. If it is possible let me know.

Yes. You need to use a CursorAdaptor instead of a ListAdapter. Some differing approaches here, for example:-
