Help Autocorrect and autosub won't work.

So my phone was working fine when i had it, then recently i had a tmobile Over the Air firmware update crap, and now i notice that my auto correct and auto substitution won't work AT ALL. normally typing in dont and wouldnt and stuff without apostrophes would be autosubstituted so that there would be apostrophes. same thing with autocorrect as well, when i type in simple words like "trying" and i type "tryung" it won't correct it either. I have predictive text toggled on, spell correction and auto-substitution toggled on and it still won't do any of those things. What really pisses me off though is that the little box of suggestions right above the keyboard has the correct word I wanted right next to the "raw" word i typed.

just download another keyboard from the market.

Swype, SwiftKey, Go Keyboard, Better Keyboard.

if non fits you. and this really bothers you just do a factory reset..

I did get SwiftKey but I guess I got used to the samsung keyboard. I was thinking to do a factory reset as well but there goes my data on my apps. Not even sure a factory reset would fix it.

did you try unstalling the keyboard and then install it again.

sorry i thought you meant it happen to you other keyboard as well.
but you can delete the keyboard if your device is rooted

Nope my s3 isn't rooter, and the other keyboard is just fine so thats why i realize that its the samsung keyboard's fault and would most likely be due to the over the air firmware update.

I noticed the exact same problem right after the recent August 2012 update on my T-mobile galaxy S3. My autocorrect no longer works either, even though everything is checked.

Yeah I know right? and did you notice that under the input options for samsung keyboard, the "My Word List" has been moved from the Predictive text menu to just the general settings menu? So thats why I think its due to the update that screwed it up. Did you notice that auto substitution doesnt work either? Kinda glad to know that I'm not the only one experiecing this problem. Maybe we can get more people and report it to samsung and have them fix it in the next update. Or in the new Jellybean os.

This is driving me absolutely nuts!! I will definitely be complaining to samsung. Its annoying enough that this phone already has bugs and glitches... like notification vibrations not working correctly whwn you try to customize.... but when I do an update I expect the phone to improve not give me new glitches! This should be fixed pronto. Texting errors are a big pet peeve of mine and who wants to have the annoyance of having to correct words manually everytime?? So annoying. Get it together samsung... this phone is supposed to rival iphone5?
