Help automatic blank the screen

Hi Team,

I have samsung galaxy s and everytime i dial a number my screen turns black and cant do anything. i take out battery and put it back on and try to call again and still the same problem. any idea?

thank you.

There is problem with proximity sensor - small hole in the left top corner near earpiece.
This sensor is switching off your display when you are on call to save energy and to prevent messing on your display by your face (touch screen).
It's sensitive only when in call and you can activate it by covering it.
Check if its not dirty or covered. Maybe you have some screen protector?
If not you ll have to give your phone in for repair.

You can also check your sensors, just go in to the TEST MODE (type on dialpad *#0*#) and tap SENSOR, you can check accelerometer, proximity sensor, light sensor and magnetic sensor. If the phone is vibrating all the time in this test that mean you have problem with your sensor.

Hope that helped :)

thank you for your reply, i did what you've told me. i open the handset and check the sensor area and its corroted. after cleaning it now it works fine.

Thank you and more power!

Robert
