Automatic call recorder

I am an S4 user and I am looking some call recorder application which can record only the voice of the other person. I use my computer to listen to the call but I don't want to have a file with both, the caller voice and my own voice in the same channel.

I have tried Autoamtic Call Recorde ACR in the trial version and it has a setting to chose to record uplink and downlink, besides mic and call.

I would like to know if downlink setting does what I am looking for ?.
If it is, can someone tell me about an good call recorder application that can do that correctly?

At least, my free trial version of ACR doesn't work when I set downlink and it doesn't record any sound.

Thank you.

Are you rooted?
Are you in the us?

US S4's cannot record both sides of the conversation. Can fix this, if rooted.

electricpete, thank you for the answer.

I bought my S4 in the US last december.
I can record both sides , but the outgoing file, is an audio file with a single channel and both voices in it.

Otherwise, I could listen to the two sides in a separated way through some advanced sound editor program like sony sound forge.

In example, if you record a skype call using any Skype call recorder you will get a file with two separated channels.

So, since that in this case is not possible I really would like record just one side, the side of the other party.

Now, related with you say, I understand that all I need is to be rooted . is it so?

And, do you know a good call recorder I can use being rooted?

Finally, I am not a programmer or advanced user so I don't know how to become root.

Where can I read about how to do that ?

Thanks

I can record both sides...
..I don't know how to become root
My assumption was you can't record both sides well because it is disabled on US phones and root is required to change this behavior. I have seen that myself, the only way I could get around it without root at the time was to use speakerphone which gave poor quality recording and forced me to use speakerphone when I might not want to.

Apparently you don't have the problem of recording both sides on your unrooted phones. Things may have changed since I was looking at it. I vaguelly recall some programs toggle the speakerphone early in the call and maybe it gives a reliable workaround.

If you did have problems recording both sides, for a phone like mine (US, AT&T rooted S4 running 4.3), this works to establish flawless 2-way recording (speakerphone not required):
Call Recorder WORKING solution for SGH-I337(M) - UPDATED Sep.15.2013 - xda-developers

As far as taking the recording of both parties (which most users want) and splitting it into individual recordings of each side, I have no idea.

Dear all,
I've gone.through many or probaly all call recorders in the play store but found only one to work.....
I found others to be either crap or duplicate or for any other reasons they didnt work...
I used handsets -
- samsung y duos,
- Samsung galaxy s2
- Xperia C ( all were not rooted. Rooting not required)

And i found all of them work great with this call recorder whose link i am providing here...
The sound clarity and loudness is same of both side and more than enough loud
Its name is "AUTOMATIC CALL RECORDER"
Link is this-

Thanks to everybody for answer

Thank you all.

I want to clarify that I have no major problems with voice quality that this program provides.
The quality is good but I need voice recordings separately.

I do not want a recording in which both voices can overlap.

I think that is achieved by setting Source = DownLink.
But I'm not so sure because it does not work.

In fact, if i choose this option the program does not record any voice and that's a failure.
The recording file is 00,00 Mb and nothing is recorded.

Maybe electripete is right . I have not tried Automatic Call Recorder as root and maybe I should do it.

However I would appreciate if anyone has experienced with this program and if can confirm my understanding on the concept of DownLink .

Thanks
