Root [Avail] Is it safe to remove Orkut?

On my zte merit z990g net10 it came stock with orkut in the /system/app and it runs when the phone boots and uses about 20k ram I can't kill it because it says it's a system process. I can freeze it with titanium backup but after freezing when I reboot its still in the running process list. So my question is how do i go about removing it and is it even safe to do so. I would just uninstall with titanium but since it runs at startup I'm afraid it might crash the phone. Does anyone know what I should do thanks!

Ok I got froggy and decided to risk it. Yes it is safe to remove orkut my phone didn't blow up. I converted it to a user app first with titanium which gave me endless force closes till I rebooted after that I froze it for awhile and checked everything out it seemed fine so I trashed it no problems.

Yeah, Orkut is just bloatware it seems. I removed it as well and all my apps function fine and without crashes. I used ROM ToolBox to remove it though. I also didn't get the "endless errors". Mine simply removed without a hiccup. *shrugs*

*Side Note*
Make sure you don't remove Email.apk bro. You'll **** over your Camera.apk app. Happy rooting :)

orkut is completely safe to remove.

so are these:

calendar
calendar provider
documents_eval
facebook 1.6.1
filer
gmail
google contact adapter
google calendar adapter
google feedback
google partner setup
music 2
maps
pico tts
books phone
plusone
protips
sdlog
twitter
videos

i think those are all the ones i have removed from mine. haven't tried any others. but these are completely safe and will not break anything.

And the c.i.q. app. On the z990 its called Device Health. Install C.I.Q. RED PILL from Market, it will tell you exactly what to remove and where it is. Its simple.

Yea the reason I got all the force closes was because I converted it to a user app first while it was running. In retrospect that was a bad idea I should have just removed it.

According to C.I.Q. RED PILL nothing was found on my z990g from Straight-talk it wasn't found. Can anyone determine if it is on the Straight-talk z990g?

If Red Pill says you have no ciq, you can believe it. I was getting updates during the night, when the phone was inactive, that was reinstalling ciq. I had deleted device health completely, but, there was a "beacon" telling at&t I removed ciq, so they would reinstall it. Red Pill found everything, and told me what to delete. No more sneaky updates. ;)
