Help Available Storage Doesn't Add Up

Hey dudes, I've noticed tonight that when I check my storage available through the settings of my N5 the amount of available storage doesn't add up to the individual breakdown of apps, music etc.

I'll post a screen shot later but basically of the 26gb available I have approximately 16gb of apps, music etc. on my phone but it only shows around 5gb free.

Are there files that aren't detected by the settings app that are taking up space or something?

I'm rooted and running Dirty Unicorns, if that matters.

Just so we're sure we stay on the same terminology here -

"Available" should just be total space minus everything else. So the phone labels "available" = free space.

Apps+pictures+audio+downloads+cache+anything else should equal the total storage when you add in the "available"(free) space

Your nandroid backups don't get accounted for I think so that's probably why your used space doesn't add up to the numbers you see in the categories.

If its on the internal storage it should be placed into the misc category.

My used space + available space roughly add up to the total space

Sorry was thinking of cwrm backups. Op should check if he ever made a backup using cwrm ( /mnt/ either in shell or cwrm/ I don't remember).

Thanks for the replies and sorry for not being more clear in my OP.

There's the screen shot. My TWRP backup is included in the misc. but I did use CWRM previously so perhaps there are some backups from that somwhere I don't know about? How would I go about finding them to delete them?

EDIT: I think I found it:

Can I just delete the clockwork mod folder? Is there anything else I should delete? Anything I need to be careful not to delete?

Thanks ::

Thanks for the screenshot. Yep, looks like you're missing about 5GB

If TWRP is your recovery, go ahead and delete the CWM recovery folder

Thanks, I did that :)

There's still around a gig un accounted for but still nice to get most of that storage back :)

Any big downloaded games that you uninstalled recently?

/data/media/obb/

Usually when I flash a different Rom, I don't backup some games on titanium and so the data somehow remains.
