what is the avarge or normal time for the battery to charge? is it faster when the phone is off? i have owned the bionic for a week now and love it and as adviced by motorola i have not let the battery deplete to the point where it shuts off. the lowest i have let it gone down to is 20% but on avaerage i would say 40%. i noticed that when i plug it in with the phone on but all apps off and not using the phone the time for a full charge takes a hour where when the phone is off about 45 mintues. is this normal i have gone from a blackberry storm 2 which would charge is 30 mintues with the battery under 20% and the phone is on. also i just wanted to note that i think it is cool to have this forum i wish i would have got a android phone instead off the blackberry storm 2 back in december 2009. i have been missing out big time!!!!!

Welcome to Android! :)

Charging time will vary by model and whether the charger used is outputting 500 mA or 1000 mA (1A), and as you note, whether it's on or off during charging. Even if all apps are off from your point of view when on, the multitasking Android OS is typically quite the busy beaver in the background servicing whatever social apps or email preferences you may have set.

Getting from 40% to full charge in about an hour or so sounds about right - that will vary by model, as I mention.

If you'd like more feedback just from other Bionic users, I'll gladly move this to the Bionic forum, please just say the word. :) ;)
