Avi player?

Does anyone know of a player that will do avi files?

Or, can anyone design a player that will play avi files!?

Can't think of one right now. I have the Samsung Moment and it has it built in. You might want to check with the manufacturer of your phone and make sure it's even possible.

Probably best to convert to .mp4, IMO. But if you insist, I think yxflash might handle it.

xyflash is the only way I know of right now. And even that is hit and miss. Works for some of my avi's, but not all.

You will probably save time and hassle if you just convert them as previously stated. Use handbrake (google it). Try the various mp4 settings and find something that works well.
