Root Aviator Root

Get the aviator_root.tar.md5 from the link, do not use the CR930_USCC_FD02_CL1016569_USER.tar.md5 included with the driver, not sure what it is for but that is what is hosing the process. I finally got it working now, so much faster.

Could this have to do with the updated firmware. I'd like to try this root method, but I just updated the firmware to the FD02 today. Has anyone done this with this new firmware?

I have done it with FD02 and had no problems. I reflashed FD02 before i rooted in the video that i believe is in the first post.

This worked very well for me! Thanks alot! Now, I have a question. How do you unlock the phone to work on any network?

Can anyone confirm that this still works now on 2.3.6? And where can I get a ICS or JB rom?

Yes, it still works, and the only way to get an ICS or JB ROM is to build one yourself. There is no development happening for this phone. The GSIII was announced shortly after the Aviator was released, so everybody who WOULD have worked on getting ROMs ported over jumped ship for it.

WELL GOT IT ROOTED ONCE I FIGURED OUT YOU NEED THE DRIVERS FOR THE PHONE! FOR ODIN?? WORKED PERFECT!!

HOPEFULLY THIS HELPS IT THANKS GUYS!

sorry for caps!

>>Boot phone into Downloader mode
>>Pull battery reinsert hold volume down and plug usb cable in

After I do this, I get a screen that comes up, "Downloading... do not turn off target", and it just hangs there.....

I get the same. Could you share what the fix to it is? Thank you!

Can I get the aviator_root.tar.md5 file from someone. teamuscellular.com is down and searched google for the file but didn't come up with anything. Thanks.

I take no credit in this but trying something out and seeing if this is a way to root this phone. i have successfully done it as well as a few others.

PLEASE POST IN THIS THREAD IF THE SUPERONECLICK METHOD WORKS FOR YOU!

What you will need:
Odin 3 v1.85
SuperOneClick (SuperOneClick - Download.com)
Your Phone

Download this (aviator root tar. If mac download the one for mac) (http://teamuscellular.com/Forum/files/category/4-samsung-aviator/)

Boot phone into Downloader mode
Pull battery reinsert hold volume down and plug usb cable in

Flash the .tar in PDA mode. Let it restart (should go into USB Debugging mode if not put in Debugging Mode)

Open up SuperOneClick and click Root.

Let it install SU and Busybox.

Open Superuser up in the phone (if not installed download from play store) hit the settings button and update SU.

It should update. To verify root download Root Checker from the Play Store.

Enjoy your Rooted Aviator
