What are the benefits of this update ?
dose it correct known problems with phone ?
for those of us that had little or no problems are there any valid reason we should update ?

my phone is working and has been from the very beginning so before i go applying a new update I'm hoping someone who has can share there experiences with me as to if there has been any improvements.

did the update no adverse effects seen still trying out some things will continue to monitor and see .
thanks to all those you helped now i need to try this on my cuz's phone her warp is atrocious hopefull this will make her happy .

I'm not rooted. Had major fc problems. OTA update didn't help. Did the website update a few weeks ago, and have kept the phone mostly stock-not even a launcher. I was good until 4 days ago - daily force close again.
The phone is fine other than that, but that's like having a great girlfriend who only cheats once a week.
When I can afford it, I'll get the next good noncontract Droid - maybe Boost, maybe not. I know I will never have another ZTE anything...

totally understand can't say you didn't try, phone just doesn't seem to want to get pinned down to one fix even after all this some phones just refuse to be reliable and that is the ultimate goal we all share.

if you are stock and on the latest update and it still fc you have a hardware issue and should send it back to zte for a replacement, end of story.

The software is stable per many of us, so it has to be hardware if you are stock.

sorry for the simple question but here goes:
phone is rooted but no other mods done to it YET. No paid apps
can I just run the update and I will lose all settings I have done, which is ok with me or do I need to unroot and run update?
Have been leery of doing mods to phone and I do use Debian and Ubuntu for years
Thanks
Dougie

no need to unroot, just run the update, re-rooting won't work with the one click after though, as far as I know you would need to install cwm to get root back, then you could go back to stock recovery... see the b08c threads in the root section for details on how to do that.

Nope. Disagree.
Have you not seen the number of posts from people who sent their phones back for repair, and still have problems?
I talked to ZTE. Several times. They swear up and down it's a software problem. But, they can't fix it.
Based on performance, as well, a hardware issue seems unlikely.
If your phone is fine, good for you - but I'll decide when the story ends for me, thank you.

no prob bud, I was only meaning to point out the software is constant across all of us who updated to B08c, so the more likely variable is the hardware (or apps too, but you said you were stock).

I updated to the B08c and have not had a restart issue as of yet. One issue I have had is the phone has locked up a couple times in the lsat 24hours. Not sure yet if its an app doing it or if its the phone itself. Anyone else have this issue?

With some grat advice from some people here I installed a few apps because I have a ton and since doing so today no reboots no lock ups...a few that I uninstalled, yahoo mail, foursquare, cache cleaner and tweetcaster...hope that helps
