Help Back arrow

Is there a "back arrow" key, or a key stroke that will let you go back while typing without deleting characters?

I realize you can tap where you want the cursor to go, but that is very imprecise when you want to go back to a space in between letters and make a correction. Especially with fat fingers. LOL

I just use the optical pad. Rub your finger quickly across it and it moves the cursor one letter over. I really like this pad better than the track ball on the Eris because you had to be much more precise with your movement on the Eris to get the cursor to move just one letter.
