Help back button and app button

Hey I just bought the new s5 and I curious to why my back button and the clear app button isn't lighting up. I've looked all around in the setting and I can't find anything.

On mine they light up when you first unlock the screen then they go dark and are not visible. However, they still function when not lighted.

Mine don't light up at all. Is there a setting to turn them on ?

I have the same issue, the Recent and Back buttons don't light up. I tried what you suggested and it's on Always On but still is not lighting up.

Would I need to take my phone back to the shop and exchange?

Check if your power saving mode is on or not. If its on, the menu and back button will not light up to conserve battery life.

My recent app and back buttons have stopped working. Power saving is disabled. Please help
