Root Back Track 5

I've used Back Track on my tablet using the debdroid method from XDA as well as that Linux Installer app method. I haven't tried on the Elite. IIRC, the BT IMG (as well as all of the available linux flavors) is fairly large, perhaps too large for this phone. It might be possible to get it running off a microSD.

It's a pretty powerful pentesting OS/software collection, but it's not illegal unless you do something illegal with it.

i personally wouldnt use back track on the device in my opinion, legally or illegally if youre desperate to get into the wep cracking scene, id recomend using commveiw for windows i can personally say it works!

I'm trying to figure out how to make my external_sd mounted as internal, i tried editing vold.fstab and changed sdcard to extsdcard and vise versa, it made the screen black and only a few things work, and when i rebooted it changed back, has anyone else figured this out yet and i missed it by chance?

I posted a thread about this a few weeks ago and I tried all the same things as you (but my screen never went black???) and no one could figure it out however I did talk to this one guy on xda who said if I sent him my vold.fstab he could do it for me but i never got around to sending it to him and now i regret it hopefully I can find him again I knew I wasn't the only one who really wanted this. There are things to flash in cwm but it swaps /sdcard and /sdcard/EXT_SD but we need one to swap /sdcard and /sdcard/_ExtSd (i think that's what is is but I don't have my phone on me right now but you get the point) however that's not too popular.

im not an expert or anything but doing so will brick your phone. UNLESS you are very skilled at editing these.. (:

It didnt brick my phone, it just wouldnt work properly and when i rebooted it was back to normal. for some reason it doesnt save when you reboot. It is one of the weird things i noticed and im not sure why. but no harm was done, and vold didnt save, and i made a nandroid back up and took my vold file in notepadd++ and edited it, put it in a rom saved on my computer and loaded it it the edit stuck but no harm done to the phone. everything worked fine but it did not chang the mounting from sd card to external.
