Root Back up Apps without Flashing

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Spica and have been playing around with different Kernals and whatnot, and the phone seemed to be doing just fine. However, lately it's been freezing all the time and every feature on the phone lags horribly or has to force close. I've decided the only way to fix it is to Flash a new firmware onto it and begin anew. In doing this however, I would have to format the system and lose all my apps. So my question: Is there a way to back up my applications before I flash my system? There are certain scores and records that I wish to not lose in these apps and formatting the system and reinstalling the apps would mean they will be deleted.

Is there a way I can back them up? Either to SD Card or PC?
I am on Samsung Galaxy Spica 2.1 Eclair
App2SD doesn't seem to work either...although I'm not sure if that saves scores and whatnot

As you have flashed the phone, use Titanium backup. It backs up all the apps onto SD , when u install new firmware, install titanium backup again and u will be able to restore all ur previous apps :)
