Back Up Apps

Mybackup pro does a good job and if your rooted they have one specially made for root users. You can set a daily or once a week backup schedule on it as well.

I already have Astro File manager but I cannot figure iut how to back up the apps with that program. Any help?

Cannot remember the exact location of this option as I have not used it in some time, but it shouldbe somewhere, unless of course they removed the option from the free version when they introduced the paid one.

I was going to ask this same question but I already know about all those programs and many other methods, but I was wondering If there Is a program that makes an SD card look like an extended partition so you can just access and update from the SD card.

I know this Is possible but with an older Android I'm not so sure?

You mean using the apps run off the sdcard?

It's a feature of 2.2, but on older firmwares you would have to switch to a custom ROM to use it.

I'll put in a vote for SpriteMobile Backup. It can back up apps and data (contacts, SMS) to "the cloud" on DropBox or BoxNet. You can set a schedule. I have a daily one set for 0130 daily. Suggest you not back up photos and videos though as they can take a long time and chew up your free DropBox space.

I was afraid of that. So what are the better ROM's out there?

ROM: Liberated Aria Froyo Series FR008 12/13/2010 **Fully working OC Kernel** - xda-developers

Is this one any good?

I should add that I only have experience rooting my own phone (a HTC Hero), so it's possible that what I said may not be true for your phone; maybe you can get apps2sd running without a custom ROM.

You should check out the All Things Root section for your specific phone, where people will be able to give you answers specific to your phone and advise you on ROM choice :)

This maybe off base, But I am going to upgrade from my Droid to the Droid X, and I want to move all the app. that I have on my Droid to the Droid X. My Droid said that it is 2.2 when I first got it. So from what I have read here is that the app.s are on the sdcard?
