if you have gmail you can sync All your contacts to your gmail, So now when you log in your gmail account from your pc go to your folders and you should see all your contacts just copy and paste them to a new folder on your pc.

I'm not sure how to backup your contacts on your pc, but you can back them up on your google account by going to contacts > menu > more > move contacts > move contacts from phone to your google account and when you sync with your google account you should get your contacts back if you delete them or do a factory reset. Hope this helps.
