Help back up phone when turned off??

Hi all.I have the Samsung i9010 (I think it is, the armani one) but it runs the same as Samsung Galaxy S apparently... anyway, its broken and I need to send it off for repair (froze up, so i turned it off by removing the battery, then when i try and turn it on again it just freezes on the welcome screen 'giorgio armani' bit).. but i don't want to lose all my phone data because its got lots of video's and photo's etc that I really don't want to lose.Is there a way I can back up all the data on it before i send it off? without being able to actually turn the phone on? The guy in the phones4u shop seemed to think that some phones are able to back up their data using the pc connection while the phone is turned off. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Marc.

mgee88, sorry about the phone, but as far as I know there is no way for the computer the recognize the phone if it is not off, and you also need to mount the sd on the computer using the phone itself.

But the videos and photos are stored on the internal SD, so if you receive the same phone back from repair there is a big chance they are still there, if you receive a different phone then you are out of luck.
