Help Backflip occasionally reboots

I just got my backflip a week or so ago and I've been having some trouble with it rebooting itself. It doesn't happen too often but it's just annoying when it does.
It usually occurs when I am running an App and I flip open the keyboard, it just automatically reboots itself.
Anyone know of a fix for this?

There may be an app issue. Try this, turn the phone off, open the keyboard and press and hold the menu key on the keyboard. While holding the menu key, turn the phone on. Keep holing the menu key till the phone fully loads. This will activate safe more. The phone works as normal, except all the installed apps after you got the phone are turned off. Use the phone as normal. If it resets, have AT&T warranty it for you. If it does not happen again, then you have an added app that is causing the phone to crash. You will need to try uninstalling different apps, till the issue goes away.

well i hate to tell ya this . . as much as i love the backflip and looking past everything att has done to subside its capabilities. this reboot issue is in the design of the phone. in most cases this reboot is not due to an app but the battery coming loose or disconnected. You may notice that if you do get your phone open to the keyboard and it doesnt reboot it will reboot if you use any keys on the right side. When you are using these keys or any hard bump to the phone will cause the battery to disconnect. Simple Solution: put a business card in the back between the battery cover and the battery itself. i highly doubt motorolla will own up to this design flaw and make a new backflip and give it to everyone who owns the shotty backflip but hey we can dream right. lol.

I've had my backflip for a couple months now and at first I was having some reboot issues like you describe. I simply took out my battery and replaced it back shortly after removing it to reset the connections. Seems to have worked. :)

I had the same problem especially when I was typing with the keyboard- backflip would restart itself a couple of times a day. I cut up a business card to fit over the battery, put it between the battery and the cover...since then it has been stable, no restarts.

I also have freeze/reboot issue, very random. I tried the "battery fix" and it did not work at all. Freeze/reboot keeps occurring. So my phone issue is not the battery connection.....

All smart phones need to reboot at one time or another.
To kind of "refresh" its self. If it is doing it way too much, then that is a problem.
try taking it back to AT&T (U.S) OR TELUS (CAN.)

My wife has had her backflip since November 2010 and I was really impressed with it (I had an ADP1 at the time, but have since switched to a Captivate). It has worked flawlessly until this week.

it is now rebooting at random, and has trouble even rebooting. It also seems to be getting really warm in just a few minutes, without really doing anything. Any chance this is a battery issue and not a software one?

If it is a software issue, maybe I ought to just factory reset the phone? There's no telling what apps she downloaded on the phone- she just doesn't grasp the concept of malware from marketplace or the need to reboot the phone and clear caches every so often.

I was able to get the wife's backflip running long enough to upgrade to 2.whatever. Still has the power down problem when running any kind of app.

It also on one occasion didn't recognize the SIMcard when it booted back up.

Could this be an out-of memory issue? Or maybe a bad sim card?

We bought it as a refurb... and now find out it's only covered by 90 day warranty. Funny, I thought refurbished meant as good-as-new, and therefore warrantied as new...
