Help Backgrounds HD App Question

Lurker
I recently downloaded the Background HD free app and think it has a lot of cool choices on there. However after selecting one to use as my background, I am only able to use about a third of the picture. Is there a way to stretch it so I can use the pull background?

Use a different launcher like Go Launcher. The stock launcher doesn't support scrolling wallpaper, so you can only use a one screen width slice of the wallpaper. I think there are apps you can get to allow the scrolling with stock, but why? Touchwiz launcher sucks anyway.

Even using Go with scrolling wallpaper it still makes me crop the wallpapers from Backgrounds HD. I had better luck using Zedge wallpapers. Not sure what I was doing wrong.

Regardless of what picture or app you use, you are going to have to crop it. The scrolling wallpaper will be cropped into a square. I know when I first got my GS3 it wouldn't let me use scrolling wallpaper and would make me crop it into a rectangle (standing up not laying long ways) I used Quickpic to be able to use a scrolling wallpaper. I think they have since changed this as I don't have to use Quickpic any longer. If you want more of the picture on your home screen you will have to do some editing. Open the picture up in a editing program(I use paint.net it's good and free) then you can open the picture and add more to the picture. make the canvas bigger on all sides and fill it with whatever color you want(kind of like a picture frame) then save it. Now when you go to set it as a wall paper you have more cropping room to play with. Hope this helps.

EDIT: Also, with Zedge, (if you are logged in and have chosen your specific phone) they only will show you wallpapers that are for your phones screen size. Which make the photos look better. You don't have to crop them and have them zoom in and be distorted.
