Backing Up Contacts

for some reason, i have duplicate numbers. For example, on my contacts, my friend Sam will have 2 identical mobile numbers. i have no idea why, so i was thinking on backing up all my contacts, and syncing specific numbers again (if thats even possible). does anyone have any tips for me?

If you have registered a GMail / Google account, the contacts back up there already....

Could it be that you're also synchronizing FB contacts, and thus it is getting duplicate phone numbers from there?

i think that may be the problem... is there a way to Un-sync facebook profiles? that would be so perfect. and also, when i click on a contact, it gives me like 6 of the same Facebook profiles for them.. anyone know why?

Settings --> Accounts & sync --> tap on Facebook --> uncheck Sync Contacts

i love how gmail will let you merge duplicates!

Log into your gmail account online from a home computer. Your contacts are saved there. You can edit them however you need from there and they will sync back for you.

Settings --> Accounts & sync --> tap on Facebook --> uncheck Sync Contacts

Yes I had this issue on the BlackBerry's. I never sync them anymore from Facebook.
