backing up private apps

I am backing up my apps using Astro. I have noticed that a few apps do not have a check box for updating. They just say private. My question is how do I back up these private apps and where are the apk's hidden? If I can find the apk's I can copy them or move them once I have finished with them.

Most of those are usually paid apps done that way to keep down Piracy. The only way would be to root your phone and use Titanium Backup from Google Play.

All apks are in /data/app, somewhere you can only get to if you're rooted.

In which case, you can backup with titanium backup.

Private apks are paid apps, stored in play anyway

Edit... ninja'd

U can get them all. If you're rooted, check in /mnt/asec/ for the secure apps. That's how mine is on this HTC Evo 3D 4.0.3. If not, it will still be an apk, just look for them:

busybox find / -name \*.apk
