Help backlight gone

hi does anyone know i what i can do about my phone...i had it plugged in to the charger and all the sudden the backlight goes out and i can hardly see anything on the screen. its all still visible but really dark. any ideas? ive tryed rebooting and removing battery but nothing.

Is the device brand new:confused: If so I would suggest a visit to where you purchased it and see if an exchange is possible.
Just to clarify when you say back light do you mean the entire display on the screen?
