Backlight problem

I have an iball 3G 7334 . From last two days it's backlight is not getting off even after pressing the power button.
The problem started when i was using my tab and suddenly it recognized an HDMI cable even when i didnt connect any cable. The screen went to landslide mode .i restarted the tab and after that it's backlight is not getting off.
I can do factory reset but i cant afford losing all the contacts and app data.I want an solution other than the factory reset.

Get a good magnifying glass, a strong light and a wooden toothpick. Inspect the HDMI port carefully for any dirt (specks just about too small to see with the nnaked eye.) clean them (carefully) out of the port with the point of the toothpick. (I assume the port hasn't been damaged in any way - that might do it too.) There are crbide particles all over the air and one of them could cause a short in the port, making it think it was connected to an HDMI device.
