What's the difference between a Verizon retail Note 4 and a Verizon Developer Edition Note 4? The aboot partition.
The bootloader comes encrypted on BOTH: but the aboot contains the unique encryption key that unlocks the DE and allows us to root & ROM our phones. That key is unique to YOUR phone's bootloader! So it's vital that you back it up... if aboot becomes corrupted or somehow overwritten, you will have a retail Note 4 in your hands.
EFS Professional is a free Windows program that backs up the partitions that TWRP doesn't see... like aboot.
I highly recommend that you back up aboot as soon as possible, giving you peace of mind:

Let's all be careful out there...
