backup app settings

Hi

Is it possible to backup the application settings as well?
For example I have k9 email client with several email accounts, how can I backup them along with the k9 app itself?

You need to be rooted to backup settings, then use Titanium Backup

I read about rooting but with all the warnings about it, I'm not sure I'm up to it

Sometimes the app itself has a backup option for its settings. If the app doesn't provide that natively, your best bet would be to simply root the device. I have been rooted for a long time. I don't really see what the fuss is all about.
