backup free apps unrooted

stvs

Newbie
hello. i have installed only free apps from google play,so can i make a full apps backup without to be rooted? titanium backup (unrooted)? any advice for backup apps for free apps? (not for paid apps cos are locked) unrooted pls and without pc help. tnx

Titanium Backup requires root, won't work otherwise.

You could use Helium, which needs to be connected to a PC the first time you use it (or if you reboot the phone) but after that works fine without root access or PC.

thanks. however i found mybackup pro can create backups as .apk! from all my installed from google play free apps ! its amazing so far, i dont know if it can backup paid apps but i bet it cant.

Get an apk extractor if you just want the apk files. I use that for apps I feel will lose support and die off play store but I want to keep them...

Helium can backup app data as well, which means your game saves won't be lost. MyBackupPro requires root to do that. Helium doesn't.

Correct. That's why I suggested it despite the OP saying no PC involvement.

If app data backup is wanted you have to either root and use the backup app of choice or use Helium and a PC startup enabler. There are no other options that I'm aware of.

i dont want app data, backup only the installed free apps, and the mybackup pro can do it unrooted !

Maybe it's just me, but isn't app data more important? It won't matter to me if I have the Angry Birds apk, but I wouldn't want to start back from stage 1 when I already reached a hundred stages completed.

I can't see the point of backing up apps unless you have some that are no longer available for download, perhaps an old version.

The only part of an app I find worth backing up is the data; the app itself can always be reinstalled from source so there's not a lot of point keeping a local copy of it.
