Help Backup Internal Card - Razr Maxx

tgcdroid

Lurker
Sorry if this have been beat to death. How do I SIMPLY back-up my Internal Card using the USB cable to a Windows 7 Laptop. I tried to just copy it but at the end, got an error (information) method that there were 14 files whose names were TOO long for the directory and Windows told me to "RENAME THEM". If I could SEE them, I probably could.

All I want to do, I think, is have a back-up or copy of the Internal Card in case the phone goes funky.

Did a LOT of googling and seraching and downloaded the Motorola Back-up Assistant and manager. That is for the routine Data stuff.

Is there a piece of software that does this or are the 14 long named files just garbage or temp files like Windows has?

Thanks for helping me.

Thanks....I will look at that.

I did a little more exploring....using Windows Explorer. The god awful LONG file names are in a folder marked Aloqa. They were all made on the same day. THere is also a com.aloqa.xxxxorwhatever.picture.list.

I can NOT find any app or info on the Aloqa. I probably pushed the wrong google button one day.

Is it SAFE to kill these Aloqa files and HOW do I prevent them from popping up or being added again.

Sorry to be such a novice, but this thing is not like my daddy's PC (or Oldsmobile or whatever).

BUT I do LIKE IT.

Did a little more exploration. I KILLED all the Aloqa Files. There are STILL 14 files, that do NOT show up on a Windows Explorer search. BUT if you click on the contents of the Internal Card and do a Ctrl A to select all, then copy and paste to your PC Hard Drive, you get the entire card copied....BUT, at the end, there are 14 files with the same garbage name....beginning in "ah". If you do a search in Explorer, they do NOT show. I sort of breezed through them, but I figured out that they were created on the day when I purchased my phone. Don't know if they are critical or not, but they can not be found or copied....at least by the standard Windows Explorer.

Anybody KNOW what these files are or whether they are just the temp or garbage files that got set up when VZ activated and initialized the phone?

This is what mine looks like. I only have two files. Not sure what they are for.
