Backup question

I just recently got the new Samsung Droid Charge (changed over fromBblackberry). What I wanted to know is, are there any apps that allow you to back up not only the apps I've downloaded, but also the phone's settings. Just hate to have to spend all that time setting up my phone again if I didn't have to.

One of the best backup apps for any android phone is Titanium Backup. There are free and paid versions but the paid version allows one click backup/restore and is worth every penny. Titanium Backup is available from the Android market.

Should point out however, that you will need to "root" your phone to use this.

thanks. bummer is, since i'm new to android, i'm not comfortable rooting my phone right now. any other thoughts??
