Backup & restore all data inc apps

The battery on my Acer tablet went flat and it seems to have done a factory reset. I lost all my folders, documents, pictures and downloaded apps. All the documents and pictures were copies of those on my PC, but when I re-downloaded my apps, of course I had lost all the data on those. now I'm back to the beginning of Candy Crush and Mind Games - very annoying!

What backup app/s would you recommend? I don't want to root.

Helium is probably the most comprehensive backup app that doesn't require root (though as a rooted user I've only used it once myself, to transfer some stuff to a new phone which I hadn't rooted yet).
