Backup sim from iphone to samsung?

Hi total noob for pardon the iphone intrusion! Ive changed from iphone to the new Samsung s5 coming in about a week. I need to backup my current (iphone) sim to retain all contacts and numbers etc and then transfer this to the NEW SIM for the Samsung phone.
Is this possible, how do I do this? Photos on the phone aren't needed etc, just contacts and numbers.

It's easier to transfer all your SIM contacts to your Google account. Then no matter phone you use or what phone you switch to, you can have access to all of your contacts when you sign in

OP, I'm fairly sure that you need to go to your provider/carrier and have them do it as I can't recall having heard of a way to do that "at home". That being said, gtbarry has it right. By getting all of your contacts into Google, you'll never face this problem again, regardless of what model Android phone you choose, or what carrier.

Sigh.... Typos

2 ways

Time consuming way you have to repeat every time you buy a new phone.
1. Make a backup of your iPhone using iTunes.
2. When you get your S5, download the latest version of Samsung Kies for PC
3. Connect your S5 to your computer and let Kies load it.
4. On Kies, select tools>import from iPhone>select your iTunes backup file.
5. Wait for it to finish
6. Profit

But I still prefer simply syncing to Google. That way, whether you buy a new phone, transfer OS from Android, iPhone, WindowsPhone, BB, heck even Symbian (does that still even exist?), your contacts would go with you. Even if you buy a new sim and throw the old one away.

Here's the instructions from Google how to sync iPhones to it:

Where is the iphone backup file stored so it can be imported?
No idea what to do with google sync, I have a gmail account on the iphone but nothing is being synced, exchange fails as its no longer supported?!
