Root Backup system - sgy

Hello guys,

i have decided to ROOT my phone.

BUT FIRST.

I am a bit confused, how can i back up my system before rooting my samsung galaxy y?

im a newbie, should i download a BACKUP APP? what? or should i leave my phone as it is? heeeelp

Thanks a lot guys! i really really really want to root.

:D

If you want to just root, it shouldn't be neded to make backup, as long as you don't flash new ROM (or use some weird rooting method which overwrites the phone data or needs factory reset). If you want to backup, try some app from Play Store (I use Sprite Backup) :
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=backup+phone+settings&c=apps

Carefully, without root the applications can't backup application setings and data! Just Wi-Fi settings, SMS, call log and other common settings can be stored, but no data and settings of installed applications!

Thanks!!

My plan is to ROOT my phone first then read up on custom ROMs and the like before trying it out. i have to read up first on Custom ROMs, overclocking, etc.

For now, i just want to play HD games on my phone, maximize its battery life,
and install titanium back up.
