Backup to SD

Have a Huawei Ascend 2. Upgraded from my 1999 1G cell, (yeah, yeah, I know there is no such thing as a 1G, and all this Android stuff is new to me). Anywho, one of the stock icons is "ALL BACKUP", which I opend, under the caption System Data Backup there is the option of "Backup to SD", which I opened and cell reflects "Running in background". After this cleared I clicked onto my photo gallery and it was empty! Where did the photos go? To the SD card? And if so, how do I retreive the photos? reflects "There are no items in your collection"

That's a bit bizarre!

I wouldn't expect a backup to delete anything.

If you connect to a PC you should be able to browse the contents of your SD card. Alternatively, you could download something like File Manager (free on Play) which will let you do the same thing on your phone.

BTW - congrats on keeping a phone going for 14 years!
